Adrian Ascinia (Senior Food & Beverage Assistant), scooped the Best Cocktail Award at the recent Cook and Serve Challenge 2019 which was sponsored by Boë Gin.
The Cook and Serve Challenge is an annual competition organised by Venues of Excellence and this year, eleven teams competed serving a three course lunch to invited guests with complementary beverages. This year’s competition was themed ‘Showcasing Talent’ and Adrian’s cocktail was judged to be the best within the senior category on the day.
The cocktail, Passion Gin Daiquiri included passion gin, passion syrup, soda and topped with a passionfruit. The ‘mocktail’ was aptly named ‘Apple Crumble’ and included Woore fruit farm bramley apple juice, apple syrup, ginger ale with an apple and ginger crumb.
On winning, Adrian said: “Competing at the Cook and Serve Challenge is a great opportunity to put my skills against colleagues in the industry, and I am thrilled to have won the Best Cocktails – Senior this year. All the teams performed on the day and in the evening it was great to see everyone’s dishes that had been presented and to be part of the awards ceremony.”
