The Ceremony

At Keele Hall we have a choice of settings to deliver the ceremony of your dreams.

Comfortable seating up to 90 guests, The Great Hall, with its vast amount of natural light, space and double-height ceiling, is our most popular space for the ceremony to take place.

If your hearts are set on an outdoor wedding, you can make the most of our grounds by taking your vows in our Italian Gardens, with views out over our lakes and the stunning Staffordshire countryside.

A fully licensed venue

We are licensed to hold civil marriages and civil partnerships within Keele Hall and its grounds, but you are required to book your registrar or celebrant. If you’re thinking of a church ceremony, the Keele Chapel is just a stones throw away from Keele Hall.

How to book your civil ceremony

If you wish to marry at Keele Hall, you will require the attendance of the Superintendent Registrar of the District to conduct the ceremony and a Registrar to register the marriage.

You will also need to indicate your intention to marry to the Superintendent Registrar(s) in the district where you live, for which a charge may be made. Authority for the marriage will be issued by the Superintendent Registrar(s) of the district(s) notified, 28 days after notice is given. The authority(s) should then be handed to the Registrar at Newcastle Register Office.

For more information on the booking process and associated fees, please visit the Staffordshire Ceremonies website by clicking here.

For marriage ceremonies, at Keele Hall, the full names of the Bride and Groom must be given to your personal Wedding Organiser, prior to the ceremony. The marriage ceremony must be a civil, non-religious ceremony. Any readings, music, words, or performances must be secular and regular and agreed with the Superintendent Registrar in advance. There must be no religious artefacts in the room. No food or drink may be consumed in the room in which the ceremony is to take place, for at least one hour prior to the ceremony, or during the ceremony. Public access to the ceremony of marriage must be permitted.
