As the meeting and events industry takes the route out of lockdown and begins welcoming clients back to hosting events, we thought we would introduce you to some key team members who have been working behind the scenes throughout the pandemic and are now back and taking event bookings for 2021 and beyond.
Meet Danielle Farmer, our Events and Conferencing Coordinator. We asked Danielle what she enjoys about working at Keele University Events and Conferencing:
What are the main parts to your role at KUEC?
“The wedding side of our business is my main focus – I’m one of the wedding coordinators. As well as our wedding couples, I also look after proms and banquets.”
How has your role changed/developed in the last 12 months?
“Initially, I was brought in to the team in a supporting role. Very quickly, I was allocated my own clients.”
What did you do during your time on furlough? Did you finally do something you’ve been meaning to do for years? Did you find a new hobby?
“My furlough time enabled me to finally complete my Diploma in Venue Coordination with the Wedding Academy. Like many other people, I also did a bit of baking here and there.”
What are you most looking forward to about KUEC reopening for business?
“I’m excited to return to my role fully and carry on liaising with couples to plan their big day with us!”
What do you hope for the next 12 months at KUEC?
“On a serious note, I hope that we can go back to planning events as we did in a pre-COVID world. On a much less serious note, I hope that we can sit together in the office where, along with my colleague Carol, we can entertain (questionably) everyone by singing along to the radio!”
